Ruperto is currently featured in the major motion picture “The Cookout” produced by Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Films and Lions Gate Films, in theaters September 3rd, 2004.
A natural born comedian who’s best know for his pantomiming humor and his endless variety of facial expressions and characters. Born and raised in New York City’s borough the Bronx as a son of Dominican parents, allowed Ruperto to be exposed to a diverse array of cultures that have provided him with many experiences, which to day he incorporates into his stand up routine. “Funny things always happened in my house being that there were 8 of us.” It’s no surprised that he brings an extremely high level of energy, personality and style to the comedy stage that is hard to find today.
Ruperto’s television appearances consist of CBS Urban Latino TV, BET’s Comic View, Galavision’s Que Locos!, special featured guest on It’s Showtime at the Apollo, Ricki Lake and NBC’s Law & Order special victims unit. He was chosen to perform at the Latino Laugh Festival in San Antonio, Texas also appearing on the tv series (SiTv) and recently mad his debut as a Headliner at New York’s most famous and respected comedy venue “Caroline’s on Broadway”.
When asked about his most memorable performance he immediately brings up two shows one at the theater of Madison Square Garden for the popular New York Radio show La Mega 97.9 FM. Also when he performed for NY City’s “Fleet Week” donating time to the troops hosting the event which included performances by Will Smith & wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s band “Wicked Wisdom”. Comedy is just one part of this magnetic performer’s rising career. Ruperto Vanderpool is ready to take on the world. His playful use of both English and Spanish has garnished this pioneer of Dominican-American Comedy the comparison of Eddie Murphy mixed with a little Chris Tucker meets John Leguizimo… it’s a tongue twister but he brings it all to the stage!!!
